Job Duties
When pet owners are on vacation or working long hours, they hire Pet Care Specialists to come to their home and care for their animals. During short, daily visits, Pet Care Specialists feed, play, clean up, give medications when needed, and let them in and out of the house for exercise. Pet Care Specialists may also be available for overnight stays, looking after the homes of clients as well as their pets.
As a Pet Care Specialist, you must also be ready for the dirtier work. You will be cleaning litter boxes and animal messes within the house, cleaning aquariums, cages, or pens. On dog walks you will be picking up after them on the street.
